When given the opportunity, parents are going to speak out. That's exactly what PSO Parent Advocate Haleigh Earnest does in her recent Op-Ed which discusses Louisiana's Gator Fund.
She argues that parents should be in the driver's seat of their education because no one understands their child better than a parent. And we couldn't help but agree.

We believe that parents know best when it comes to their child's education.
At PSO, we are working to transform education across the nation, towards a bottom-up approach that enables every family to choose an education that best fits their needs.
But voices are more powerful in numbers, & adding your voice to our cause could tip the scales.
Our friends at @calvirtualed has awarded Senate Majority Leader Angelique Ashby the Golden Apple Award for her support of #schoolchoice and flexible public education.

Last month, our advocates went straight to Capitol Hill to tell congressional staffers what it's really like to be a public school student left out of the federal school lunch program.
We're fighting to change that. 🎙️ 🥗

Last month, a mother and daughter from Florida joined PSO on Capitol Hill and shared what losing federal meal benefits really looks like for a virtual learning family.
Their story, alongside policy experts and educators from across the country, was part of a PSO briefing urging Congress to rethink the congregate setting requirement that leaves virtual students behind.
Advocacy met action as participants then met with bipartisan policymakers to push for real change.
#Tennessee mom Julie Taylor enrolled her daughter in #virtualschool to give her the structure she needed, and it worked. But HB2420 threatens to shut down #TNVA and other virtual programs that provide kids a safe environment to learn.
