Whether or not justice is served, I hope that the people in Maynard James Keenan's life do not enable his habit of harming underage girls - in particular - the woman who trafficked me to him on the first APC tour. I've been told that they could both go to prison, and they should.
Deep breath. I have to anonymously tell this story because I tried to tell it from my real account and couldn't name him directly out of fear, so I deleted the tweets. Here goes: I was 17 and he was 36. 1/

A Perfect Circle tour November 6, 2003, Tampa, FL.
Maynard James Keenan and Twiggy Ramirez invited me back to the hotel, A high-rise in downtown Tampa, booked under another name which I had to use to get upstairs. Maynard tried to rape me.
A warning to Maynard James Keenan and all men: *leave underage girls alone.* Do not take advantage of a girl's kindness and trust. She deserves to keep her self-confidence and happiness forever. /End #TimesUp#MeToo
Now that I am approaching the age that Maynard James Keenan was when he assaulted me, the thought of assaulting a 17 year old is completely unthinkable. Just *unthinkable*. We have to train men to think rape is as unthinkable as cannibalism. #MeToo
@IWas17HeWas36 It was 2006 sounds of the underground. I felt safe as a guest and rep of the local rock station. Stupidly asked for a beer backstage that took 20 minutes to get- it was opened when I got it. And daylight. Next thing I remember was tweeted above.
@IWas17HeWas36 I was drugged by the band behemoth. What I remember is coming in and out of consciousness- being on stage in an empty arena, spotlights laughter and a penis in my face. The last coming to event I found myself tangled in barbed wire atop a fence. Out of breath running for my life

I've carried a sense of deep shame from this assault for many years. I thought it was my fault. How could I let him do this to me? But he was 36. I was 17. He knew exactly what he was getting away with. What could I have done differently? My body was paralyzed. #MeToo
