#WeeklyPlanetPod Joker/Kraven have me wondering who these movies are for and why they decided to use this IP on stories that have little to do with the original characters?
Surely the fans don't want this & people who aren't fans don't care about just having a name slapped on?
@weng_of_weng@RAWCollings@mrsundaymovies@TheWeeklyPlanet Oppressive regimes love tweets, because the people sending them think they've achieved something and stop trying, and the people doing the oppressing never see them. Do you think a member of the IAF has ever refused to drop a bomb because they saw a strongly worded tweet?
Reshoots aren't necessarily a bad thing but I do love that someone goes into production shooting a movie that they had a vision for and planned out
The MCU showed you can be successful without planning on Iron Man, but also proved you can't bet on that to be consistent long term
James Gunn is done filming "Superman" and suggests reshoots may not be needed: "I’ve done a total of one day of reshoots on my past two films combined.”
His tips for avoiding reshoots include: “1) Over-prepare. 2) Don’t start shooting until I have a finished script my whole team is happy with. 3) Hire actors and department heads I know can do their jobs. 4) Surround myself with people who will challenge me and not just yes-sir everything/ 5) Ask myself daily – are there any small imperfections in the script or what we’re shooting that might end up feeling like huge imperfections when we cut the film together? 6) 1 and 2 again!”

#WeeklyPlanetPod hearing that Argylle cost $200M made me wonder...
in a few years will we get an exposé about how Hollywood saw big tech, with all their money, trying to get into making movies but realized tech didn't know how much it actually cost and then ran up the bill?

#WeeklyPlanetPod not my favorite SW series, but I appreciate that #TheAcolyte had a Sith with a motive beyond just cackling about power, even if it was vague. It also did a better job of illustrating the bumbling & corruption of the Jedi than the prequels IMO. They took a swing!
Wow, #TheAcolyte actually got interesting this week...
Manny Jacinto's character actually has depth and his acting is some of the most nuanced I've seen in Star Wars since Andor
Throwback to that time James told everyone watching the Santa Clause 3 Caravan of Garbage to Google "episiotomy" @TheWeeklyPlanet

#WeeklyPlanetPod listening to your review of Old Man Logan and hearing all the characters who appear made me wonder... Was the MCU better off with fewer characters? Did the licensing limitations actually save them from lore overload? And if so what does that mean for Deadpool 3?
I wanted to love #TheAcolyte but I just... didn't.
I hope it gets better and it took me some time to lock into Andor too, but this is feeling like a bit too cartoony of a vibe for my taste.
Hilarious that they went all in on Japanese but somehow cheaped out and didn't use actual Portuguese...
Overall it's quite good but all the Spaniards and Portuguese speaking English is confusing because they're constantly referring to the language they're speaking as Portuguese
I really want to like #ShogunFX but if it's all in English that's gonna be a struggle.
It's 2024 - TV needs to have faith in its audiences. We're all reading subtitles anyway.
