To honor Somaliland’s Independence Day, I’m glad to have met H.E. President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro), a leader who listens to his people. Wishing Somaliland continued peace, progress, and prosperity, and celebrating the strong ties between Somaliland and the UAE.
Ku soo dhawoow Israel, Madaxweynaha Somaliland @Abdirahmanirro.
Booqashadan taariikhiga ah waxay astaan u tahay kartida weyn ee iskaashiga cusub ee u dhexeeya labadeenna dal.
Somaliland is here to stay and to thrive. From humble beginnings, it has grown into a stable, democratic, and strategic force in the Horn of Africa. As recognition grows, so does its commitment to responsible progress and lasting success. #Somaliland#HornOfAfrica
#Breaking News: The recognition of Somaliland has become increasingly urgent as President Trump considers relocating U.S. troops from alliances and bases that provide limited benefits to those offering clearer strategic advantages. With its stable, self-sufficient democracy #usa
Strange how people oppose the recognition of states that may follow international law and protect their people, yet comfortably live within borders originally drawn through conquest and barbarism centuries ago. Still, those states that rose through violence are very much recognized.
Although, I must say, time does not wash violence into legitimacy, nor does it turn history into moral supremacy.
Somaliland and South Arabia are two examples that come to mind: states still seeking recognition, yet the absence of formal recognition has not stopped them from developing and governing their respective societies.
These are my preliminary thoughts, what do you think? 🤔
