In Episode 1, we balanced a stick on a cart. That was control in 1D. We tried keeping something unstable from tipping over while the world pushes back.

Now, we lift the problem into 3D. A quadcopter must manage pitch, roll and yaw at the same time while following a demanding path. We hit it with gusts, change in payload in mid-flight and briefly we reduce its available flight authority.

The controller keeps redistributing thrust and torque in real time so that the craft doesn't spiral, drift or tumble, but instead track its trajectory with precision.
