Stateside, a gas station. I drank a frozen blue beverage too quickly, and was struck down by a punishment this entire nation knows, and accepts, and has named.
The drink is called a slush. Ice, sweetness, and a blue that does not occur in nature. The day was hot. I was thirsty. I drank like a soldier at a river.
The pain arrived in my skull like a war horn.
Behind the eyes. Above everything. Total. I gripped the roof of my car. I may have made a sound.
"Brain freeze," said the cashier through the door, with no urgency whatsoever.
It has a NAME. The affliction is so common it has a household name, like a cousin.
"Tongue on the roof of your mouth," called a man at the pumps. He did not look over. He prescribed the remedy mid-pump, casually, the way one mentions weather.
I pressed my tongue to the roof of my mouth. The war horn faded. The healer nodded at his pump, finished, and was gone in a Chevrolet.
In my land, punishment follows crime by way of courts and seasons. Here, the sentence is instant. Drink with greed, and the ice strikes the mind directly. No trial. No appeal. Perfectly fair.
And here is what moves me. EVERYONE has felt it. The cashier. The healer. Children. Elders. An entire nation united by the same small lightning, all taught the same cure, all passing it on to strangers at gas stations, free of charge.
You cannot fully distrust a country once you know it shares one pain.
The freeze does not punish thirst. It punishes haste.
I finished the slush slowly, like a scholar. Blue tongue. Clear mind.
Then at the door I forgot everything, drank deeply, and was struck down again.
"Tongue, hon," said the cashier, without looking up.
Discipline is a journey.
There is a stark difference between Celeste Maloy and I when it comes to your constitutional rights.
Today, Celeste again voted to reauthorize FISA without a warrant requirement to search the communications of Americans. This means she supports allowing the government to spy on you without a warrant.
Constitutional rights are NOT negotiable. I will not vote to reauthorize FISA until Congress adds a warrant requirement to search the communications of Americans.
Remember that time a few of Utah’s 🥩 dinner “Republicans” tried to make Phil Lyman out to be pro choice? Come to find out their candidate is funded by the world’s most prolific pro abortion donor. Yikes. @CelesteMaloyUT
IVERMECTIN KILLS NEW WORLD SCREWWORMS IN BOTH HUMANS AND ANIMALS
LIVESTOCK: 12 studies found 97%+ prevention of New World screwworm infestation in cattle wounds
HUMANS: Documented complete larval elimination in severe oral and eye socket infestations
"Horse paste” wins again.
I thought there was no way this was real… it had to be parody… so I looked it up myself.
It’s real. @HelloFresh are advertising their product as being good for clearing out your rectum in preparation for anal s*x during Pride Month.
I’m so done with this timeline.
Melinda French Gates pledged a billion dollars to help support abortion rights this election cycle. She donated to "Republican" Celeste Maloy who has a history of voting in support of abortion. She's not the only Democrat megadonor funding Maloy either.
Elections have consequences.
Utahns in CD3: If you re-elect Celeste Maloy, you’ll get a Congresswoman who has voted for:
• Vehicle kill switches that give the government control over your car.
• Keeping congressional sexual allegation reports hidden from the public instead of shining light on them.
• Warrantless searches and preserving surveillance powers that erode our Fourth Amendment rights.
• Glyphosate immunity, protecting pesticide makers over Utah families and farmers.
• The Norman amendment fight and backing provisions that fund DEI and abortion providers.
And she’s the one who misrepresented a Trump endorsement while pushing policies out of step with conservative Utah values.
So much is at stake for Utah’s future; our freedoms, our land, our families, and the principles we hold dear. We can’t afford more of the same.
Vote like your liberty depends on it. Because it does.
I’m Phil Lyman, and I’m running to fight for you in Congress. Let’s send a strong message this primary.
Celeste gets low scores from conservative groups. I don't like the direction she is taking the Republican party. This is my summary of 5 of her votes.
1. Her vote to fund abortion, DIE, and pediatric gender affirming care, and many other measures added by senate democrats in to the appropriations bill. She could have voted with other republicans to support the Norman Amendment.
2. The Kill Switch. She voted with 57 Republicans and all 268 Democrats to fund Kill Switch research - also agains the amendment to remove funding for the Kill Switch.
3. She voted to move Nancy Mace's HR 1100 to the ethics committee rather than to support the resolution which would have disclosed the member of congress who have used taxpayer funds from the "slush fund" to silence victims. That fund was created for that exact purpose (yes, it is a real thing).
4. She voted against the amendment to remove legal immunity from Bayer and Syngenta - the manufacturer of pesticides using glyphosate. The farm bill was a good bill, this amendment made it so much better. The bill passed, despite Celeste voting against it - one of only 6 republicans to do so.
5. FISA - Maloy voted for the bill even though the amendment to require warrants to surveil Americans failed to pass.
I also touch on the Trump endorsement that was given to all republican incumbents in 2025 before this race was even official. The other candidates for congress opted to minimize that endorsement for ethical reasons. Not Celeste, you have probably received a dozen mailers touting it, and with her $870,000 from the Chris Stewart Pack funded by Anthropic AI, you will see a whole lot more. Maybe that is why she is also pro data center regardless of transparency.
Celeste Maloy stood at a debate about AI and data centers and never mentioned that Anthropic's PAC just spent $837K on her campaign.
Anthropic doesn't want “tighter regulation.” They want FAVORABLE regulation, written to crush startups and lock in their dominance.
This is regulatory capture. It is a huge problem with Utah's establishment. It has to stop.
