Just randomly going through my X posts, and I’m marveled by how often I fail to recognize the beauty in my own write-ups.

Like, I know I wrote them, but I’m reading them now and asking myself, When did I write this?

We don’t always give thanks from a place of abundance or celebration.
Sometimes, gratitude rises from sacrifice, adversity, and even pain.

This is why we must train our hearts to know the posture of thanksgiving especially when it’s hardest.

My path is lighted up.
I call forth good tidings in this season.
I find favour in the sight of God and men.
The glory of the Lord is risen upon me.
The joy of the Lord is my strength.
His love constrains me.
I stay yielded.

We live in a society that instinctively conditions us to avoid debt at all costs. Yet we often forget that in the economy of favor, God chooses to work through people.

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us.
Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us.
Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul.

Life is far too spiritual for us to approach it casually.
It is not a level playing field.
The opposing force is playing to win at all costs.
Even if that means resorting to costly, underhanded tactics.

That’s where the real work, real courage, and real growth begins.
