Twitter sucks. Likes, positive replies & RTs are boring & lame.
After ~5 years of fighting & excitement, regular arguments are boring. Finding somebody to argue w/ is much harder, too, since so many were banned, so those left are scared to espouse their irrational opinions.๐

@Peypey_it_is@kissmyarseuwimp@EuromaidanPress The answer to your question is so painfully obvious to everyone else, so youโll have to excuse him for assuming the question was rhetorical.๐
@dukewu1996@CiceranoF@Reuters A large swathe of the Chinese population work in sweatshop-like conditions &/or make very, very little money. On top of that, 100,000s of Uighurs are basically slaves. China is violently authoritarian & their citizens have no true rights.
Yes, democracy sounds more attractive.๐
@dukewu1996@CiceranoF@Reuters Literally nobody would fault China for trying a less authoritarian, less violent approach, they'd welcome it! What are you talking about?
I didn't say maintaining face compromises policy, though it is complimentary in that the policy doesn't work & they cover it up to save face๐
@dukewu1996@CiceranoF@Reuters Uh, maybe because making oneself the leader for life is the antithesis of democracy? China doesn't practice any democratic principles, as they're not a democracy. Just... what? I never said that made them worse off for defending covid, but I'm sure the argument can be made.๐คทโโ๏ธ
@dukewu1996@CiceranoF@Reuters Yes. Most countries did not go for the Zero Covid Policy & several countries that did already ditched it. Nobody has criticized them for changing tactics that weren't working.
Maintaining one's image should NOT come before effective policy. How could you suggest such madness???
@CiceranoF@dukewu1996@Reuters Yeah, but China doesn't practice democratic principals, especially considering Xi Jinping somewhat recently made himself leader for life.
@dukewu1996@CiceranoF@Reuters Everything is a political matter in China, as they put on a show for the world.
Many countries have attempted it & quite a few have ditched it. It's just that China has the strictest version by far, which results in a very heavy-handed (violent) approach to keep the spread down.
@shaokesy1 @MartinCross717@Reuters With Shanghai, it's probably because they've locked down entire city & beat & jail people who dare to venture outside for food. People are starving & the government does nothing. I've even seen video of government officials taking pics pretending to bring supplies for propaganda.
@PersonWhoCares7@Reuters China's vaccine was less effective than Western vaccines & China knows this. They are less prepared for the fallout of a big spike, which is why they so desperately & violently controlled people during the pandemic. No price is too high to keep the elites alive & maintain face.
@CiceranoF@dukewu1996@Reuters No, this is just how they enforce their "Zero Covid Policy." Beijing orders the policy be followed & party members desperate to kiss ass (and not lose their jobs, livelihood or lives) crack down super hard on the populace to control the number of cases. Their vaccine also sucks.
@Mannyquintero@Timcast Well, it was a ridiculous notion that conservatives were THAT gullible & foolish, but they proved everyone wrong. I don't see the relation, though, as those who say "men a menstruate" are very few in number, whereas Trump supporters were quite active, vocal, & they had numbers.๐คทโโ๏ธ
@Timcast "I don't agree with Jon Stewart or Bill Maher, so I think they're lazy & it's sad. Don't ask me how they're lazy, I never clarify my statements unless it's some low-hanging fruit by a blue checkmark."
-Tim
@VastoLorde_x@surroundedaf@Timcast Confusing? Inflation takes time to catch up to all the money printed from the stimulus' both presidents approved.
The first year of Covid, there was the Russia-Saudi Arabia oil war that made gas prices plummet. I remember they couldn't sell it fast enough. Trump did nothing.๐คทโโ๏ธ
@Timcast It's likely because his Twitter account seems to be used exclusively to advertise his shows. The person making tweets is some guy who isn't Bill Maher. People prefer the idea that they're talking directly to a person, especially in politics, not their social media manager.
@Timcast This really exposes just how scared Tim is of shadows.
Unfounded fear is probably the biggest driving factor for conservative voters. Fear of immigrants, fear of government oppression, fear of liberal influence, fear of the election & freedoms being stolen, etc.
@Phatdick336699@redrightham@Mannyquintero@Timcast@museband Dude, get over that election fraud shit. There's no evidence of it, it's been disproved over & over, even by Trump's own judge picks. Trump started the lie before anyone even voted ffs.
Doesn't seem like there's evidence of any laptop, either. It's just embarrassing.
@KimJones1103 @wetpizza_ @bubbaprog What planet do you live on?!? People do exactly that all the time. Talk shit, get hit. Don't like it? Oh well. Try running your mouth all the time & see what happens. Watch how everyone tells you that you had it coming. Nothing to do with "hurt feelings," you sound like a 10 y/o.
@tt12514@MegaTranRuns@CajunBlueAZ1 @MaximEristavi They're dressed in camouflage & don't have a blue armband. They look like military & the Russians have Asians in their country, too. They can easily be mistaken to be the enemy.
@tt12514@MegaTranRuns@CajunBlueAZ1 @MaximEristavi That's a one-sided pro-Russian account.

It was a Chinese reporter, which they call a "comrade." I see no friendly fire. And there's likely no way to tell whether they're the press when they're far enough away to use mortars.
