During my final exams, I called my dad crying that I can’t study anymore. He told me to close that book & go to the mall.
At the mall, I picked a dress. He said how much. I told him. He said he doesn’t have money and if I don’t pass I won’t have money too.
I went back to read.
I saw a TikTok once where a woman said you know you’re in a healthy relationship when your worst fear isn’t getting cheated on or disrespected, but it’s the other person dying 😩😩😩😩
In a healthy relationship, your partner hears you out if you’re upset, and their goal is to avoid upsetting you in the future, not debate whether you should have been upset in the first place, or make you feel as though your emotional experience is wrong.
1. HR is not there to protect you. They are there to protect the company.
2. Document EVERYTHING.
3. Food is not a reward for hard work.
4. Do the bare minimum, or you'll get rewarded MORE work.
5. Use them sick/vacation time.
6. Everyone is replaceable.
7. Keep them emails.
Hormonal birth control makes you fat, doubles risk of depression & triples risk of suicide.
This is the clear scientific consensus, but very few people seem to know it.
- Go on LinkedIn, search for “I’m hiring for” or “we’re hiring for” and insert your desired role. It’ll pop up with a ton of posts from hiring managers & recruiters, Many you won’t likely see on job sections /platforms
- Have an editable version of your CV & cover letter easily accessible on web & mobile (preferably Google docs), to make quick adjustments where needed for each role
- Identify the keywords in each JD and adjust your skills & experience in your CV to fit it, helps move past the ATS phase of your application
- Show the impact of your work in your CV, eg number of users/beneficiaries/reach etc, valid data that helps quantify what you do
- Ask important questions in your interviews too, shows you know your onions eg “what does Success look like in this role”
