HUMBLE: #Rams cornerback Jaylen Watson went from making just $7.25 AN HOUR at Wendy’s after his USC plans fell apart to signing an #NFL contract worth up to $51 MILLION.

Watson had signed to play at USC following junior college, but he was ruled academically ineligible to transfer. With his football future suddenly uncertain, he moved home to Augusta, Georgia, and began working at the Wendy’s his mother managed while getting his academics back in order.

Jaylen eventually earned an opportunity at Washington State, became a seventh-round pick of the Chiefs in 2022, and won two Super Bowls in Kansas City. Four years later, the Rams gave him a three-year deal worth up to $51 million, including $34 million guaranteed.

From $7.25 an hour at Wendy’s to $34 million guaranteed.

People really aren’t informed on this Rams/49ers Australia situation. The Rams were 1 of 4 teams granted with marketing rights in Australia back in 2022. They’ve also tapped into China, Japan and South Korea.

They’ve actively sent individual players and staff there over the past 4+ years. Including @RampageNFL. Those same people were a part of the travel plan that was developed.

Just because they aren’t there right now, doesn’t mean they haven’t been working their asses off to have presence. The 49ers, despite no hardware for 31+ years, flat out have a larger fan base. But the details are important!

Whenever I hear someone claim the Rams “did nothing” to fix their special teams, I instantly know they did zero research.

- Hired a new ST coach in Bubba Vetrone
- Signed veteran long snapper Joe Cardona
- Added the top free agent ST specialist Grant Stuard
- Added the Thicker Kicker late last season — who went 12/13 on FGs, didn’t miss an extra point, & didn’t miss a kick in preseason.

They completely revamped that unit. We’ll see how it works out, but to say they didn’t address it is ill-informed.
