Listening to @LeBatardShow and @jemelehill today, I appreciate how they discussed the tragic story of Cam Ward, who went from a Zero-Star Recruit to the #1 pick in the draft, was overlooked because of Sanders dropping to the fifth round.
Reveal it so that we are reminded of the grace of God but also reveal it so that world knows there is a gospel for them. So many broken and hurting people need the gospel but so many Christian hide what God has done. We need to share the gospel & our testimony more.
As I reflect on Rahab, I appreciate that even though she was a prostitute, she was remembered as one. Odd to think those words, but it’s a reminder that God sees us for what we have done and chooses to love us. Yet, he uses our sin, mistakes, and trespasses for His glory.
It does not give us a license to sin but a permit of grace. It also reminds me the difference between the world & the gospel. The world teaches us to hide our sins where the Gospel teaches us to reveal it.
God can even save the prostitutes. Study Joshua 2 this morning and it is a reminder that God can save anyone and use their mess as a message for His glory. This was a good reminder this morning.
Is grief a neglected part of processing trauma? Yes
Does big pharma unduly influence medical care? Yes
Is this good pastoral counsel? No
It tries to correct an imbalance in one direction with an equal or greater imbalance. That maybe effective rhetoric, but it's harmful counsel.
@johnmacarthur was huge for me in my formative years as a believer, but lately, I think he needs to sit down. I hate to say that and also ask, "Who am I?" But this man has been hurting more than helping in recent years.
Just saw the @JawnO is now DR. @JawnO
I love seeing this, and @MaliekBlade is also defended and now a DR, too.
Lord willing, one day, I can say the same.
I think I am writing this to keep myself in check. To give 🌹to @lecrae, I thank him for his walk, ministry, struggles, failures, and consistency. We need to be a culture that walks with new believers, gives grace to their struggles, and prays for their endurance of faith.
I'm reflecting on a conversation I had with a couple at church about Kanye West saying he is no longer a Christian and my thoughts on it. Three quick ones: 1st, my heart is saddened for him. I kept thinking about the parable of the sower in Matthew 13 and his soul.
3rd, I mentioned how we celebrated this 10-second moment of faith in Kanye and neglected artists like @lecrae, who has shown us over 10 years of his walk. Yes, he wrestled w/ so many different topics & even struggled with his own, but he has been steadfast, faithful, and humble.
