If you believe free speech is for you but not your political opponents, you're illiberal.
If no contrary evidence could change your beliefs, you're a fundamentalist.
If you believe the state should punish those with contrary views, you're a totalitarian.
If you believe political opponents should be punished with violence or death, you're a terrorist.
I was never really a Charlie Kirk fan. I align with him politically, but right wing influencers have never been my thing. They all struck me as just saying different variations of the same thing - libs are dumb. But having watched some of his videos in the last few hours, he was very profound and respectful to liberals on college campuses who would debate him. He reminded young conservative students, who are grossly outnumbered on every college campus, that outside of their university bubble there are millions of people who agree with them. He went into hostile environments and engaged in these debates, and from what I’ve seen he didn’t jump into the gutter and kept the conversations polite and respectful. He was killed while having one of these dialogues with a student who disagrees with his world view. This really is a tremendous loss. The world needs more people like him.
