India has 24 Muslim MPs Lok Sabha, 17 MPs in Rajya Sabha and nearly 240 Muslim MLAs. And the community they were elected to represent is being torn apart in front of them.

Mosques and mazars razed indiscriminately.

Homes bulldozed into rubble.

Men lynched in the street for refusing to chant Jai Shri Ram.

Courts discriminating without shame.

Media dehumanising Muslims every single day.

Governments targeting Muslims as policy.

Hate speech and hate crime, rampant and unpunished.

And our representatives? Silence. Or worse, performance.

Understand what they are wasting. When you and I cry out, it is noise.

When an elected representative cries out, it becomes official.

My grief is a hashtag; their letter is a parliamentary record. My anger is a tweet; their petition is a case the court is forced to hear.

They hold the one power the rest of us do not, the power to turn our pain into something the system cannot pretend it never heard. And they sit on it.

It is not complicated.

Write to the President, on the record, after every demolition.

File the cases.

Drown the courts in them until the discrimination is written into their own judgments.

Finance fact-finding reports for every lynching, every bulldozed home, so the truth outlives the news cycle.

Sit in dharna outside the very governments doing this, where the cameras cannot look away.

Do that, and the media has to pay attention.

Do it without flinching, and the international press intervenes. The world will listen.

The world does not move for private suffering. It moves for public, official, undeniable record. That is the entire job. And they will not do it.

Instead we have produced the worst generation of Muslim politicians this country has ever seen, men and women who play victim louder than the actual Muslim victims, and act less.

So here is my question for the Muslims of India: why are you sending these cowards to speak for you?

Why are you handing your voice to people who will not raise it?

We can do better than this. We have to.

The first step is to stop rewarding sympathy in place of spine, and start demanding representatives who will shout from the rooftops, because that is the only reason we sent them there.
