A man will visit his intending in-laws for the first time and the mother of the girl would have already prepared a meal for him, the house clean and everywhere in order. Infact, he's treated as a king in the girls place.
But when she visits her man's, that's when his mother will bring out broom and starts sweeping the room. Infact that's when they start cooking(and the meals are usually pounded yam to punish you well well)or washing the clothes. They don't care how far she has gone on the road to see them, they expect her to enter kitchen and help with the meals or collect broom from Mama's hands and sweep the house to prove wife material.
To be a woman no easy at all oh!🤦🏾♀️
Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if Adam didn't eat that apple. Would God have sent only Eve out of the garden with her knowledge of evil and good?...would that have made women the upholders of wisdom while men oblivious of what evil and good is?
Or would he have just destroyed Eve alone and created another woman. Honestly, I really would have loved to know.
Years ago, my brother called me one evening and told me to stop by his place after work that he has something for me.
It turned out he got his babe a new phone but she rejected it because it was an Android. He didn't argue or try to persuade her, he just called me and offered me the phone. Excitement wan finish me then because that was like the latest Samsung series.
Days later when her eyes has cleared probably someone must have told her the value of the phone she rejected, she called him back for it but he told her he already gave it to me. She insisted he collect it from me but he stood his ground. She ended things with him because of that reason.
I'm still using the phone despite acquiring a new one because of the bitter sweet memories attached to it.
At the expense of being called a settings babe today, please stay at home, learn something productive, watch movies or better still sleep at home. Too much availability kills respect.
They won't see you finish if they didn't see you at all.
Recently, I cut off a friendship of three years because she never compliments me at all even if it was obvious I deserved it.
At first I thought it's her normal way of life but as time goes on, I realized she compliments other people as well, even people that are not as good as me but totally ignores me. Even when I achieve something, she never congratulates me but whenever there's a critique about me, her voice is always the loudest in the room.
Some people are not your friends, you just don't know yet.
There's one thing about having a 10/10 dad that I have come to realize.
If you're the type that her father spoilt with love, care and provision, it'll be very hard for you to endure in any relationship or marriage because you'll keep measuring all the men you've met with your dad.
But here's the truth: just because your dad is 10/10 to you doesn't mean he was one to your mother. Which means, he can have a perfect dad but not a perfect spouse because the things you see are not the things your mother sees.
I was once a spoilt daddy's girl and still am but my parents never failed to tell me to decenter my dad when I'm choosing who I'm to marry because if given the opportunity to marry my dad, I would see plenty reasons not to but because he's my dad, I may never see them.
The relationship between a child and the parents is entirely different from the one their partners experience and children shouldn't use that as a benchmark to make their life decisions completely.
As a classy babe, there are certain invitations you must not honor.
We live in a generation where there are now tags for absolutely everything, and as absurd as most of them are, you have to consciously avoid certain gatherings to avoid certain tags or disrespect. This is even about your own self-worth.
* Any event where there’s a gate fee or pass and they say “ladies free,” do not go. If you are not paying to be entertained, you are part of the entertainment, I’m sorry. All that “free swimming for ladies every Wednesday” my love, don’t go. You can pay for your own swimming session.
* Anybody, no matter how close you are to them, who invites you to a function or party impromptu and asks you to come with your other female friends has no respect for your time. You should be principled enough to know that inviting your friends, whom they don’t even know, to such a gathering isn’t particularly a good idea.
* Random birthday bashes where they even have to post you with “CONFIRMED” on their fliers, being invited to the studio out of the blue, random invitations to the club, and all those kinds of invites, decline.
* Especially any invitation that has to do with “come with your friends” or “entry for ladies is free,” just pass. You are bigger than those.
Let them call you a difficult or stiff babe, accept it. That is better than being called a “settings babe.”
Again, that tag isn’t a nice thing to refer to anyone, however, that is how a lot of people (read: men) see you when you honor the aforementioned invitations.
I’m particularly talking about ladies now because of the context of the conversation since yesterday. Even as a guy, any settings wey you no dey contribute to in one way or another, avoid am.
Na only who even see you at all fit see you finish.
"Aura for Aura makes the world a sane place"
If you don't give people a taste of their own medicine, how would they ever understand the weight of what they did and learn not to do it to someone else?
As long as I'm concerned, some people will forever be oblivious of how their words and actions hurt unless they're treated the same way.
I was showing my colleague a funny video I posted on my WhatsApp status and she said "Wow, you post on your status, so you didn't save my number". And right there, I knew I already fumbled.
I told her I forgot to save her number but from her expression, she didn't buy it and dismissed it with a wave of hand. Lately, she has been giving off some weird attitude. I got the message and stayed in my lane. I'm still not saving it to placate her😂
I was talking with someone and he was defending "men are polygamous in nature". Then I asked him "do you think women are not polyandrous in nature too?", but he said it's not the same
I had to remind him that it's not only men that get tired of one food as they claim. Women too get tired of one food and want to explore. The same way men get hard when they see another woman they like, that's the same way a woman gets wet when she sees a guy she likes and starts imagining things with him.
The same way men see beautiful ladies outside is the same way women see drop dead gorgeous men. And the same way men feel the urge to cheat for novelty sake is the same way women feel sometimes. We also want to feel a different vibe and have a new experience.
Same feelings but different people.
For people called emotional, women don't get excused for cheating because of their soft emotions which might actually make sense. So why do logical creatures with sense blame their cheating on nature. How logical is that in the first place?
Must be big ments!
I've heard some men say they can't date a woman who owns a car, especially if they don't have one themselves. This may stem from self-esteem issues, but I see nothing wrong with being with a woman who has a car when you don't. Men should drop this myopic mentality.
Nigerian men don't have spec when they want to cheat. They will sleep with tall, short, dark, fair, slim, fat, educated, illiterate, rich, poor, beautiful, ugly, children, adults.....the list is endless. Just have a hole in between your legs and that's all they need.
You can't ever be enough for them.
It sounds crazy but true. They can't stand what they have done to other people so they'll do everything to avoid it getting done to them.
Someone told me he can never trust his wife because he has slept with other people's wives and right infront of him on the bed with him, they lied to their partner about their whereabouts and still acted all lovey dovey with them.
Imagine getting married to a man like that, you'll fight all your life trying to prove to him that you're faithful because he has seen firsthand how betrayals happen. Every little trigger no matter how insignificant it might look to you will look enormous to him because you both have different POV due to your different past experience.
Most times, people are most insecure about what they're guilty of.
People mostly measure maturity by age but that's the least thing I determine maturity with.
To me, maturity is determined on how you handle life and people in general.
In life aspect, maturity is seen how you handle failures, challenges and changes. If you adapt easily, doesn't give up and knows how to snap back in form even after a huge setback. It shows great signs of maturity.
In people's aspect, maturity is seen by how you handle conflict, rejection, accountability, boundaries and disappointment. If you are quick to cut off people especially your loved ones because they held you accountable to your wrongdoings instead of changing, you're very immature and if you still let yesterday's fight to affect the way you treat your partner, you're far from maturity.
If rejection makes you to do unkind things to people and you can't respect boundaries, no matter how old you claim to be, you're nothing but a child.
