Top level African football has gotten to a level where we shouldn't be scared of facing these top European and South American teams. Almost all of them play abroad and in top leagues too. That's why I was very disappointed in the way Senegal crumbled against England in Qatar.
This is a cool look at how SoFi Stadium prepared to host eight World Cup matches (including the USMNT’s first match on home soil in 32 years). They had to remove seats and suites and then built an entirely new natural grass field with irrigation and drainage on top of the turf.
The Premier League has confirmed several rule changes that will come into force for the 2026-27 season.
Injuries
Players who receive on-field injury treatment/assessment will be required to leave for at least one minute (an increase from the 30 seconds previously used by the Premier League).
Restarts
A “five-second” countdown and restart reversal for clearly delaying throw-ins and goal-kicks (if the time limit is exceeded, the throw-in is awarded to the opposing team; for a goal-kick the opposing team are awarded a corner).
Substitutions
A “10-second” time limit for players to leave the field when substituted. If the time limit is exceeded, the substitute cannot enter until the first stoppage after one minute has elapsed.
VAR
A VAR review for when second yellow cards are awarded to a player resulting in a red card (only for when players are awarded a second yellow card, rather than a potential second yellow card).
The Premier League does not intend to adopt the competition optional laws, including the increase in scope of VAR to review incorrectly awarded corners.
I love Rio but he hasn't shown what Yamal showed in his early days to be getting shouted as almost a shoe-in for the LW position. Let's be serious please.
Liverpool have to be very careful. Ngumoha pathway can’t be blocked or he’ll be gone. Personally would go for a cheaper runner type LW like Abde to rotate with Nguomha. And go huge on the RW (Diomande). Ekitike is another consideration as he can defo play LW well, with Isak 9.
@SaltrockD@IamdodoP Hence the "can get close" plus the burden of goals now falls to Isak and Ekitike so a 10-15 goals from LW would be very good. Yamal is only reaching those numbers now so I feel it would be asking too much of young Rio to expect them from him

@LxreStxnna You got to be that level if you want to be a starter in a title challenging team, especially one where there's currently no clutch player in attack.
Forget long talk, the true test of an ultra-rich man is the net worth of his lowest employee. King Solomon's boys rejected silver because their level of wealth in the palace was different. Elon Musk has shown that again
We shouldn’t sell Gakpo. He just shouldn’t be starting. He has goals in him.
But I don’t wanna see revisionist takes when he inevitably scores a few during this World Cup.
