Elon’s 2019 line was “this is going to sound totally nuts… stream of consciousness.” That’s him being Elon, not SpaceX filing a licensed orbital attempt.
You can say development took longer than he hoped. Calling that “lying about the schedule” treats a Q&A wish as a published flight plan. It wasn’t. Optimism isn’t a schedule.
They didn’t ‘fail at orbit 13 times.’ Those flights were licensed and planned as suborbital on a passively safe trajectory so the ship would reenter in a known ocean zone if it lost control. The FAA did not authorize a closed orbit until this flight. Wanting the capability sooner is not the same as attempting it. Flight 14 was the first licensed orbital insertion attempt, and it made it.
What changes is the brief.
If the glasses work, the ambassador stops being a walking FAQ. They become the part the agent cannot do. Presence. Proof. The thing you remember after the feed already told you the specs.
Companies that treat this as a gimmick will add an avatar to a dead booth. Companies that treat it as a new brief will staff differently.
Meta just put Muse on glasses and on a keychain. Experiential marketing is the first place that actually breaks.
A guest can walk up already briefed. The person at the table can talk without looking down at a phone. The booth is no longer the only source of the story.
That does not replace the shift.
Muse can book the ticket, pull the SKU, and tell you what is in front of you. It cannot read a quiet floor. It cannot hand someone a sample and watch their face. That is still paid work at a live event.
I am thankful for the life we have taken together and for the one I am building now. Experiential marketing is the work I put those years of skill into, and the company is the door I am making so that work can hold a future.
Discipline picks one craft and builds a system around it. The system is what keeps you on the path when you do not feel like it. Not complacent. Just still here.
