On today's Thursday Glossary, Let me introduce you to a new crypto word
Do you know Users assets are layered multiple times around different lending platform and institutions?
Rehypothecation is the Word, Stay informed and trade smart.
Jed McCaleb built Mt. Gox when Bitcoin was still a niche internet experiment.
He proceeded to grow it to handle 70% of all Bitcoin trades worldwide. He sold it, walked away, and watched the new owner lose 850,000 BTC in one of crypto’s biggest disasters.
Then he went ahead and built Ripple and Stellar anyway. Some people just can’t stop building.
It’s a new week GIDAns. The market doesn’t reward the most excited, it rewards patience!
Panic selling and chasing pumps is just transferring your bag to someone more patient than you.
Stay patient. Keep building.
We all love low market Cap token, especially for easy upsides.
Now here's the trap not everyone talks about 😫
Market Cap shows a token’s current value while FDV reveals its potential size if all tokens circulate. For instance A $50M market cap can look dirty cheap, until a $2B FDV signals massive future unlocks and selling pressure, which reduces price.
Do you look out for both the Mcap and the FDV, or just one?
We have seen cases where whales with large holdings dominate decisions, diluting true decentralization. it risks concentrating power, just like traditional equity voting.
Is Token-weighted DAO voting often mirrors for shareholder capitalism on-chain?
Kindly share your thoughts below
Ever heard of the word Sequencer?
Many Layer 2s run faster today because one centralized sequencer coordinates everything.
Just like we have security guards that checks and control people wanting to get into a place. A sequencer helps decides which blockchain transactions go first.
It's the blockchain traffic warden. Btw, Whats your favorite L2?
August 2017, Bitcoin split in two. Bigger blocks vs small blocks, speed vs decentralization which sent Builders to war over it.
BTC and Bitcoin Cash were born from that fight and crypto was never the same.
Is Decentralization influenced by politics? Let’s know your thoughts on this.
Yesterday @theblock_hive Enugu 🇳🇬 we saw solid patnerships between, Blockchain devs, software engineers & all present to learn and collaborate.
It was the 1st edition of our series. “THE BUILDER JOURNEY” with support from @StellarOrg@Stellar_Nigeria 🥂
One of the biggest hacks I’ve learnt as a new wife is this:
Never ask a man what he feels like eating!
They NEVER know!! 😭
Anything ke? 😭 Can’t they just be specific?
Anyway, Don’t ask.
Just cook whatever you feel like eating…
they’ll happily eat it. 😂
If your friends are young entrepreneurs who sell products and post their transaction receipts online to attract more customers, stop borrowing money from them.
That money isn't personal money. It's business capital. Those receipts are part of their marketing strategy and proof that their business is active.
Some of them find it difficult to say no when you ask for money, even when they should. Every time you borrow from them and don't pay them back, you're tying up money their business needs to grow.
Many young businesses in Africa struggle because their working capital is constantly drained by unpaid loans to family and close friends.
Support your friends' businesses. Don't become the reason they fail.
