Domestic politics is part of Penny Wong's calculation no doubt. Domestic politics of the tens if not hundreds of thousands of Australians with Lebanese and Palestinian roots who are concerned for loved ones. The discussion is so blind to Australia's diversity.

@NBL The reffing is a joke. You look at a guard dribbling the ball and it's a foul. On the block, a guy can push you back 3m by throwing his body at you and it's all good. No consistency.

@stukhan They have managed it poorly. There were supposed to be picnic areas and community facilities in those lakes 30 years ago. Haven't built anything new really since post Sydney Olympics. Should have cycling facilities through from the rowing centre side and make use of that car park

@cgrfn_manly @stukhan The water industry has many female engineers and leaders. Using an unscientific measure of my gut feeling...A low proportion stay in the more detailed technical roles. I don't think it is just down to the usual lazy response of sexism.
