The Marsden Fund is the main source of research funding in New Zealand. The Government has announced that the Fund will no longer support research in humanities or the social sciences. Our university system would seem to have a bleak future.

@T_E_A_G_A The UC halls were privatized some time ago. They have been passed around among Australian companies. Current owner the Australian Funds Management Company Cedar Pacific and run by some local management company. Not a public good nor run for the good of the public.
