@Gastronaut___ @nehapadhi @DrAkhilX @BadalGondane @DrShivu_tweets I agree, the only time I am referring to is when (toward the terminal end of resolving a DKA) the patient appears to have a persistent NAGMA with high chloride (due to large amounts of saline). At that stage a small dose of bicarb usually is sufficient to correct it.

@Gastronaut___ @nehapadhi @DrAkhilX @BadalGondane @DrShivu_tweets Anecdotally (although over probably 100 DKA patients), other than *rarely* having to give a little bit of bicarb at the end of a DKA due to iatrogenic hyperchloraemia I haven't seen any issue with saline.

It's been a while since I looked at it. Regarding DKA crystalloid choice specifically.
