There's been a good variety of bird species using the Common Oak tree in our garden in urban Yardley B25 today including the first Chiffchaff I've seen this year & a pair of Coal Tits checking out a nesting box @EcoRecording@Team4Nature#urbanbirding
@footyawayday 5,500 Leeds United supporters in a 28,000 crowd at St Andrews today for the FA Cup 4th round match against Birmingham City. Cracking match & atmosphere. #bcfc#LeedsUnited
Kingfisher perched on a mooring pontoon handrail in the rain at Shakespeare Marina, Stratford-U-Avon on 1.2.26, viewed from the public footpath. Possibly finding it easier to fish in the calm water of the marina rather than the adjacent fast flowing & swollen Avon @Natures_Voice
@Team4Nature I was watching at least 40 Redwings & about 5 Fieldfares on a berry bush in Yardley Cemetery, B'ham, yesterday morning & only realised there was a female Blackcap amongst them when I looked back at my photos.
There were plenty of other birds around too.

A Song Thursh yesterday in our garden in Yardley B25 bashing &dropping a snail to retrieve the edible part from the shell. S Thrush's are rare in our garden so I assume the current dry spell and lack of earth worms is driving this behaviour @EcoRecording@Team4Nature
