New:
A bill could force California lawmakers to start talking about the controversial Capitol Annex Project.
The building is more than halfway done but leaders still won't say how much it'll cost.
My interview requests have been denied so I went to the site to ask questions:
4 lanes of PCH.
No houses. No families. No community.
But, that's all Democrats are using to connect Long Beach and Huntington Beach into one district.
We need to stop Gavin Newsom's redistricting scam. NO on Prop 50! https://t.co/iIblUsr1uO #Prop50
California, your governor just threw away $250+ million in taxes, as well as the independent redistricting commission so he can raise money & his profile for his presidential campaign.
Vote NO on his #Gavinmandered map scheme in November.
Odd seeing back and forth about whether California's proposed new House map is "fair" or a partisan gerrymander -- of course it's a partisan gerrymander! That is quite transparently the point
2008: CA voters passed Prop 11, stripping legislators of the power to draw maps for personal gain, giving it instead to an independent commission.
2025: CA legislators, Dem consultants, and the DCCC are drawing our maps… delivered on DCCC letterhead.
California State Senate Elections Committee Chair Sabrina Cervantes refuses to say who specifically is responsible for California's proposed Congressional maps.
SC: This is the most transparent process
AZ: So then who drew the maps?
SC: This is the most transparent process...
"When I go to a restaurant, I don't need to meet the chef."
Here's how California Assembly Elections Chair Gail Pellerin responded to repeated questions about who is responsible for CA's proposed Congressional maps.
CALeg Democratic leaders refuse to say who exactly.
You heard it here first: if you’re running for office, get a new pair of shoes and hit the doors. Voters are 30% more likely to support a candidate they’ve met. Face-to-face still wins races.

If you want to know why California’s kids can’t read or write, consider this commencement address from the 24-yr-old president of Santa Ana Unified, one of the state’s largest and worst:
A NEW LOW: The California Democratic Party is now running ads against me for “voting against stronger laws protecting 16 and 17 year old victims of sex trafficking.”
What a desperate and pathetic attempt to mislead and gaslight Californians. Let’s set the record straight on what actually happened:
▫️A bipartisan bill was introduced to protect 16 and 17 year olds from being purchased for sex by making it a FELONY
▫️Democratic leadership REFUSED to support these protections, and instead forced amendments that do nothing to hold sex predators accountable
▫️Assembly Republicans, along with 3 Democrats (including the author of the original bill), voted AGAINST this cynical attempt to block real reform
Make no mistake, these ads are nothing but a distraction from their own failed record on public safety.
I will continue to fight to restore the protections they removed, hold perpetrators accountable, and make sure all minors are treated equally under the law.
Democratic Assemblyman is concerned that this bill addressing human/sex trafficking (and was supposed to make it a felony to solicit 16 and 17 years old) will disproportionately affect black and brown communities and LGBTQI+ community.
Can someone PLEASE explain to me how protecting criminals who buy teenagers for sex is even remotely considered pro-minority and pro-lgtbq?! Complete garbage and frankly disgusting…
You okay with this @GavinNewsom ?
Assemblyman Hoover, Senator Niello, Assemblyman Patterson, and Congressman Kiley, have sent a letter to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the California Department of Parks and Recreation urging immediate action to support boaters, local businesses, and our regional economy.
Today, I teamed up with @JoshHooverCA, @GoldenStateH2O, and California American Water for #OperationGobble to help make sure the amazing organizations in our communities can continue to support our neighbors in need this holiday season. Happy Thanksgiving!
