Kudos to @tkyles39, got great insight from Vrabel on Maye's batted ball issues:

"I think arm angle, staring the throw down. In tight windows down in the red zone if you stare it down, you'll probably get some passes batted against good teams that don't run past the quarterback."

Tough to say if it was them or someone else (neither Woodson or Spillane normally play on any return team, but they play on the other unit that closely matched the one that was out there), but they ended up being one man short on that play.

The Patriots apparently had an issue on special teams at one point after only getting 10 men on the field after putting bigger personnel on the field to maybe block a punt at the 12:35 mark in the 4th quarter. Feels like Spillane or Woodson didn't make it out there:
