@davieshpaeds@ItsAndyRyan Don't forget Y Rhyl (Rhyl), Y Drenewydd (Newtown) or Yr Wyddgrug (Mold) - but none of the Welsh examples is a "city" (depends on how that is defined!). At least one example of a city from Galicia: A Coruna/La Coruna (apologies for the absence of the tilde)
@ukhomeoffice playing fast and loose with the new burdens protocol for #localgov - in 2011, again in 2016 and still refusing to act @CommissionerDA@LGAcomms https://t.co/8xRROReJup https://t.co/ksfyuCfhZv
@John_Mac_Spirit@SamaHoole We're not told the size of the herd, only that at least 240 acres are needed. If we assume that at each death every 30 years 14 acres need to be sold to pay tax (assumption: no change in land values or tax rate), the farm would still sustain the herd in 90 years' time.
Misleading, @mhclg. Evidence of pensions not being paid? "people’s retirement savings are properly looked after" now. However funds are managed & invested, amount of pension specified in legislation. Not clear how these changes "benefit" #localgov staff. https://t.co/Fe8vMzUc2H
1) supermarkets intensely competitive already 2) many people can pay - freezing prices benefits well off households 3) don't delay e.g. taxes on unhealthy food, increase benefits to help those really struggling e.g. housing element of universal credit 🤷♂️

@RoyalMail shocking performance continues in ##Kidderminster. Letter from financial institution dated 28 April arrived today, 14 May. Would have been posted at the time or the day after, I guess. Over 2 weeks to get here.
Cyfle i gyfarfodydd a phapurau'r Cabinet fod yn Gymraeg yn unig, tybed? Bydd hynny yn creu her i'r gweision sifil... @DafyddTrystan@RhunapIorwerth https://t.co/580OQtyEGQ
@JackTShaw But whatever the results, no change to significant financial problems facing most councils. Requires significant readjustment to the financial cake (including real fiscal devolution) and/or changes to #localgov duties and responsibilities not just in SEND but social care etc
@thatginamiller Thanks - same point in respect of #localgov reorganisation. New councils might be more sustainable in short term, but won't survive w/o proper funding reform. More than 12 years waiting on #adultsocialcare (Dilnot 2011). Over 40 years and counting since council tax revaluation 🙄
@kevincoyle@rcolvile Agree. Rather MPs stuck to foreign affairs, defence and any other topic that can only be dealt with at national level (including.primary legislation for England and UK). Councillors are responsible and accountable for local services. That's why we have elections for them...
Stunned to learn about this assault on the rights of barristers to do their best for their clients. Shameful that he is being prosecuted and worse still that reporting restrictions meant it was being kept secret from us. https://t.co/Kwq24gDBz0
@CllrAHardman Suspect you could change planning law e.g. treat as essential national infrastructure so that it was not a local planning decision. But that wouldn't overcome the other legal hurdles about rational and reasonable decision-making.
Come on, @BBCNews. Think you should comment on how such a policy would very likely be thrown out by the courts - Govt fettering its discretion, taking account of irrelevant or irrational considerations (such as how an area voted).

And this gives one small insight into why the right of people in the UK to protest peacefully against the actions of the Israeli state and its armed forces should be sacrosanct.

@KemiBadenoch And did the 92 represent the demographics of the UK? Happy to stand corrected but 92 male, 92 white. And the first factor would continue until such time as first born women inherit peerages.
