@RRussellDavies My late blind mother's version of that one was "Up in Annie's room behind the wallpaper". She had lots of sayings including, to someone who was a big eater, "you're cheaper to keep for a week than a fortnight".
@Hepworthclare So you mean nothing like the dirty politics that finagled Starmer into the labour leadership then? As somebody said of Gordon Brown at the time Starmer Reeped the whirlwind of the nasty politics that put him there
@matthewsyed So you’re comfortable with the Mandelson appointment are you and with Starmer’s apparent lack of concern for the Epstein victims? I think it’s outrageous to describe him as a good man. I think you were self-serving and not very good at the job he was given.
Keir Starmer's premiership was a catastrophe engineered by the Labour right.
They got everything they wanted - a candidate without politics of his own, control of selections and internal processes, a monopoly on his advisers - and they fucked it into the sun.
@MichaelPayneUK He certainly did his best to improve Mandelson‘s life while his sense of duty didn’t extend to the victims of Epstein. And how were the lives of pensioners improved by having 300 quid taken away in the coldest time of the year?
More recently his sense of duty has been to himself
@breeallegretti Sorry to be cynical but clearly he very much likes the idea of final appearances on the big international stages. I guess that having checkers over the summer isn’t a bad gig either.
Yep, that'll turn his fortunes around. Bringing back McSweeney while more and more damning Mandelson docs are still being released. Outstanding leadership, and outstanding grasp of reality, as always 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
How clearly Starmer has shown his total lack of political acumen, not to mention failure to take responsibility for the Mandleson appointment by bringing Macsweeney back into his operation though there are some, including me who suspect or know that he never actually Left.
@prodnose@almurray I love the story that on what was supposed to be a final reunion tour things had got so bad that he shouted "Cunt!" every time he hit the snare. Listen to Every Little Thing in the light of that! He was also very good with Curved Air by the way.
@stuey_beef Not only that, he started his statement on the release of the files by saying that the victims should be at the centre of everyone's thoughts. Like they were for him when he was commiserating with mandleson over his sacking for association with Epstein.
@Hepworthclare So nothing to do with Starmer and McSweeney appointing Mandleson then? I hope your political soul and principles were worth the paltry bauble.
