On behalf of @kmpdu I bear the heavy duty of announcing the death of Dr.Mike Monari.
He had just completed his Internship at Meru Level 5 hospital and was headed home in Nakuru after clearing with the Medical Council in Nairobi when he met his untimely ending through a RTA.
Mike as he was fondly referred to by his peers was a brilliant doctor,so friendly, always happy and making everyone around him laugh.
He was such a kind soul,full of life.
During this painful moment our hearts go out to his family and all those who loved him.May they be consoled by the promised resurrection morning when we shall meet our loved ones again.
Rest In Peace Champ!!

Led by Country Director Ms. Carolyne Njuguna, I hosted a delegation from PATH Kenya for an engagement on strengthening collaboration in support of our health priorities and accelerating the delivery of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

Our discussions focused on expanding partnerships through data-driven advocacy, digital health innovation, artificial intelligence and other government-led interventions that will strengthen resilient and sustainable health systems.

I highlighted key reforms underway, including the rollout of Taifa Care, the Digital Health Agency, the Community Health Promoters programme, the National Equipment Service Programme and the upcoming National Ambulance Dispatch Centre.

I also noted KEMSA's improved order fill rate of 90%, demonstrates significant progress in the availability of essential health commodities.

We also explored opportunities to strengthen Primary Care Networks, routine immunisation, disease surveillance, emergency preparedness and sustainable vaccine financing, particularly in response to emerging regional public health threats.

I welcomed PATH's commitment to support the implementation of the Every Woman Every Newborn Everywhere (EWENE) initiative, beginning in Kajiado County, to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes.

We appreciate PATH's more than three decades of partnership with Kenya and remain committed to deepening collaboration that harnesses innovation, strengthens health systems and delivers quality, accessible and equitable healthcare for every Kenyan.

I was joined in the meeting by Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Ms. Mary Muthoni, the Ministry's Director Health Sector Coordination Dr. Omar Albush, Kenya BioVax Institute CEO Mr. Wesley Rono, Head of the National Vaccines and Immunization Program Dr. Rose Jalang'o, the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC) CEO Douglas Bosire among other Senior Ministry officials.

The resistance is not because of ignorance but a rational response to historical neglect. When health systems face daily challenges yet mobilise extensively for one crisis, communities understandably draw their own conclusions.
