Wow! - Andy Burnham, "We stood up for people in our region who would otherwise have struggled into lockdown without funds to help them.. Because we took that stand they decided to make an example of us.. They knew Tier 3 didn't work, they knew that, but they were still going to impose it on us without enough financial support" @AndyBurnhamGM #CovidInquiry
The Government promised 5,000 extra beds.
But the NHS actually has 3,000 FEWER beds going into winter.
Please RT if you think everyone should be aware.

An update from our Executive Director, @JolyonMaugham, on how we are continuing to expose the Government's scandalous PPE waste and sleaze during the pandemic ⬇️
“I lost colleagues whilst I was working each day and the government has barely acknowledged that fact… People were dying in front of us & the morgues were full. We had no body bags left in the trust.”
Please listen to this heart-rending testimony 😔
Hospital scandal exposed as hundreds of Covid Nightingale beds sold for just £6

What we have learned over the last decade is that as a nation we don’t have the checks and balances to challenge an overtly corrupt government nor the mechanisms to challenge an overtly failing government. Developing such mechanisms of accountability should be public priority 1.
THEY LIED!
The last pretence that this govt gives a hoot about the environment finally blown asunder.
Greenest govt ever? Lie. Not lower enviro standards? Lie.
Leave rivers in a better state? Lie. All of it, lies.
NOTE: You cannot offset a dead river.

250,000 views in an hour & suddenly deleted! We cannot allow a single worker to be sacked for defending their pay and conditions - the entire trade union movement must rally behind any worker sacked for exercising their fundamental right to strike. THIS MUST END NOW!
The usual suspects are using the Lucy Letby case as a reason to suggest bringing back the death penalty. It’s as though they have never seen Ian Hislop destroying Priti Patel’s argument in favour of it.

Glimmers are moments you feel calm, connected, and your like your true self.
How to Train Your Brain To Have Glimmers:
The other day I heard Sir John Hayes MP, close confidant of Suella Braverman, saying that the “culture wars” are an important aspect of politics because they are about values.
The implication being that they are a good thing.

Just been told that Tammy Prescott has sadly died. Tammy and her husband Lintyn accompanied me to Downing Street in February. Tammy & I handing over a petition to Number 10 calling for changes to stop people like her dying in poverty.
Tammy had been undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatment since being diagnosed with stomach cancer in September 2021. The petition, organised by @mariecurieuk urges the Government to give terminally ill people of working age access to their state pension. Tammy didn’t get her pension but we will keep fighting for others. RIP Tammy 🥰
