@DPJHodges Christians are not being targeted Dan- this is misinfo. The violence was triggered by an Assadist rising and those civilians caught up are almost all Alawite and Sunni. It is horrific but could be made worse through misinfo spread by those seeking to inflame sectarian tensions.
Entirely right that the US should call out killing of innocent civilians — but the framing here is desperately simplistic.
And it’s missing a 2nd half… About the #Iran-backed pro-#Assad gunmen who killed 400+ interim gov’t forces & a large number of civilians.

@lindastudd@bowelcanceruk Hi Linda, great to hear from you: yes I remember: you lived in the Peterborough area and worked for Hyde housing association? I hope you and your family are well. I still live/work in Crawley but am working remotely from Oxfordshire in the lock down. Stay safe! X
Loved this week's programmes on Messiah @BBCRadio3. Really like the approach of immersion in the contexts of a particular work/premiere. https://t.co/HEaD1WsZ1p
'A gluttonous race of Jutes and Angles... not dreaming of heroic toil and silence and endurance, such as leads to the high places of this universe and the golden mountain tops where dwell the spirits of the dawn.' Carlyle on the benefits of Norman rule: as purple as prose gets.
@Bowel_Cancer_UK@amerz So very sorry to hear this news. Another life cut off tragically early by this terrible disease. Heartfelt condolences to Amy's loved ones.
So a satirical 1931 Kurt Weill song recently resurfaced. A fable about the dangers of quackery. A bit of a historical curiosity really: imagine living in a world where this sort of warning was still relevant!

Just caught up with this, having heard snatches in the car on Saturday. Have appreciated Lloyd as a dramatic bass for some time, but what a natural broadcaster! Wise, insightful, touching reflections on a career in opera in a tumultuous world.
