I have said it a long time ago that ECOWAS fallout will badly affect our bilateral relationship with Niger Republic involving security pacts, trade, etc. it’s imperative that the northern governors should initiate a new bilateral dialogue to address porous borders and spillovers. NWDC should lead multi-state task forces for deradicalization, amnesty-with-conditions where feasible, and anti-cattle rustling efforts. ACF and NEF should mobilize for political pressure on federal government for better border security, intelligence sharing, and resource allocation. Traditional rulers should revive conflict resolution mechanisms, counter bandit propaganda, and promote community policing hybrids. Everybody should get to work!!

I am deeply saddened and heartbroken by the recent bandit attacks on Dangulbi community in Tureta Local Government Area of Sokoto State, which claimed innocent lives, destroyed property, and displaced families.

These repeated attacks on innocent citizens are painful, unacceptable, and a direct assault on the peace and security of our communities. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their loved ones, those injured, and all residents affected by this tragic incident.

I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives the shortcomings of the deceased, grants them Aljannatul Firdausi, gives their families the strength and patience to bear these painful losses, and grants quick recovery to those injured. I also pray for the safe return of all those abducted.

I call on security agencies to intensify efforts towards restoring peace and strengthening protection for vulnerable communities across the Sokoto-Zamfara axis. Our people deserve to live in safety and pursue their livelihoods without fear.
