Beethoven’s Ninth at the @bbcproms is always a spectacle. But when it’s preceded by the most remarkable new commission by Jessie Montgomery, performed by @Abel_Cellist and the @BBCPhilharmonic under Gianandrea Noseda, it makes for a genuinely unforgettable night.

You could hear a pin drop at the end of that Mahler 6. The @BBCSO was on blisteringly good form at the @bbcproms tonight, under their Chief Conductor Sakari Oramo. A privilege to hear such brilliant and incisive music-making.
