Last week, the Communication, Media and Entertainment Fair was held at the SoC courtyard. Local employers, who are looking to hire, met with communication majors. It allowed students to network and learn about the wide array of job opportunities.

During COISO’s International Week, nights are dedicated to various cultures. Students try Latin-American games throughout Latin-American Night. Members run various game stands.Individuals admire the beautiful traditional Mexican decorations that are hung overhead.

The Ring Theater had its production, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Titania, played by senior Luciana Ragolia, swats away Oberon hand, played by junior Christopher Cline.

In-person concerts have returned to campus and students are overly excited. Last Friday, Hurricane Productions organized a concert starring hip-hop duo, Rae Sremmurd, at the Watsco Center. Students were singing along and elevated out of their seats.

Meet our Marketing/ PR Director, Stephanie Flores. She is a junior majoring in advertising management with minors in public relations and marketing. Stephanie’s role is integral to our team and her goal is to implement strategies to raise campus awareness for Ibis.

UM hosted a Lunar New Years festival with hundreds of people in attendance. Some students sat on the steps to watch the performances on the UC stage and participate in activities hosted by clubs.

As students begin to attend in-person classes, campus is filled with various clubs looking for new members. The African Students Union (ASU) is seen managing a table by the Shalala Student Building to promote their organization.

Since in person classes resume next week, canes can take advantage of campus resources and study spots. Lakeside is a great place to study, take a break or hang out with friends.

Meet Margarita Sinko, our business manager. She is a senior majoring in Finance and philosophy and minoring in psychology. Margarita is responsible for creating advertisements for the Ibis and hopes to promote portraits of the student body.

UniMiami is UMTV’s show en Espanol. This station discusses issues and topics that affect young Latinos. Seniors Althea Castro De la Mata and Sofia Fleites do a runthrough for UMTV's show.
