Turkey and Gulf Arab regimes like Saudi Arabia have spent decades cheering Egypt’s stubborn bullying of Ethiopia over the Nile,smugly assuming they would never need Ethiopia,or Black Africa at all,for anything that matters.
Now reality has humbled them. The same capitals that once looked down on Africa are suddenly scrambling to beg Ethiopia, Kenya,South Sudan, and others not to recognize Somaliland.

MAJOR TERROR ATTACK FOILED!
Plans by the terrorist group Al-Shabaab to kill many Kenyans in Nairobi have once again been foiled by the intelligence agency.

Months of surveillance and covert intelligence gathering on a terror network operating within the Dadaab refugee camps led to the recovery of arms and ammunition including 600 bullets, pistols, grenades, explosives, and drugs all destined for targets in Nairobi.

The terrorists, who had planned to carry out the attack during the month of Ramadhan, were also exploring possibilities of kidnapping foreigners and hijacking vehicles.

Nairobi remains safe because of the brave young men and women in our security agencies who spend long hours tracking down dangerous terrorists and criminals.

Our conversation highlighted the meaningful similarities between Israel and #Somaliland: resilience after trauma, strong diaspora communities, and the determination to thrive in complex regions.

Turkey has sent a number of M48 and M60 battle tanks to Somalia.

The tanks were offloaded a Turkish navy ship at the Port of Mogadishu this week.

And here is the interesting bit:

The tanks were originally modified and upgraded for the Turkish army by Israel's defence industry. 😅
