From Ago Iwoye to Force HQ. From DPO to IGP.
IGP Olatunji Disu psc (+), NPM @TunjiDisu1 just walked back into his very first station, Ago Iwoye Division, Ogun State, decades after it all began.
He stood in his old office.
He walked his former farm.
He stepped through the same residence where a young officer once dreamed of greatness.
Then he dropped a question that hit different:
"Can YOU visit where you worked before?"
This wasn't nostalgia. This was an operational pilgrimage. A reminder that every giant was once a beginner. Every throne has a starting point.
The journey of a thousand miles doesn't begin with a step. It began at Ago-Iwoye. 💯🇳🇬

"The law doesn't allow anybody to pay for bail at any police station. If you go to any police station and you're asked to pay for bail, just quietly walk outside and call the IGP" — Nigerian Police
In furtherance of the collaborative mandate directed by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, I conducted a familiarisation visit to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force. I was received by the Director, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame @eaejodame.
The engagement served as a strategic platform to deepen inter-agency synergy between the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Air Force, with particular emphasis on intelligence fusion, joint strategic communications, civil-military cooperation, public enlightenment operations, and the preservation of institutional comradeship.
I express my profound appreciation for the cordial reception and the constructive dialogue, which reaffirmed our collective commitment to integrated national security architecture and whole-of-government approaches to safeguarding our Nation.

Pursuant to the strategic directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM @TunjiDisu1 , I undertook a familiarisation engagement with the Director of Army Public Relations. I was received with the utmost professional courtesy by the Director, Colonel Appolonia Anele.
This operational interface constituted a force-multiplying platform to harden the interoperability framework between the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Army. Our deliberations zeroed in on real-time intelligence fusion, synchronised strategic communications, kinetic and non-kinetic public information operations and the unyielding defence of our national territorial integrity and internal security architecture.
I wish to place on record my profound appreciation for the warm reception and the robust, outcome-driven dialogue that underscored our shared resolve to operationalize seamless joint-tasking, de-confliction protocols, and unified command structures in the relentless pursuit of peace, order, and the rule of law across the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

IGP DISU VISITS ENUGU, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO SCIENCE-DRIVEN POLICING, CHARGES OFFICERS ON PROFESSIONALISM
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to advancing intelligence-led, technology-driven, and evidence-based policing during a working visit to Enugu State.
As part of the visit, the IGP participated in the commissioning of the Centre for DNA Forensics, Criminal Investigation and Biotechnology (DeFOCI), where he described the facility as a strategic national asset that will strengthen criminal investigations, enhance the administration of justice, and support the adoption of scientific methods in modern policing.
The IGP commended the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Godfrey Okoye University, the DNA Learning Center, and all partners whose collaboration led to the establishment of the Centre. He noted that the facility would provide valuable opportunities for forensic research, capacity building, and institutional collaboration, while supporting investigations into serious crimes including homicide, kidnapping, terrorism, armed robbery, cybercrime, human trafficking, and sexual offences.
Addressing officers of the Enugu State Police Command, the Inspector-General commended their dedication and sacrifices in maintaining peace and security across the State. He charged personnel to remain vigilant, strengthen intelligence gathering, embrace continuous professional development, and uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties.
The IGP further reassured officers that the Force would continually prioritize personnel welfare, training, operational capacity, and modern policing equipment, while maintaining zero tolerance for corruption, misconduct, abuse of office, and all forms of unethical conduct capable of undermining public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to strengthening forensic capabilities, deepening institutional partnerships to ensure policing capabilities are consistent with the evolving security needs of the nation.

FROM THE FRONTLINES TO THE FORCE HEADQUARTERS: IGP TUNJI DISU BLUEPRINT FOR POLICE REFORM.
The appointment of IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu psc (+), NPM as the 23rd indigenous Inspector-General of Police is a defining moment for Nigeria's internal security. With over three decades of service, he embodies the perfect fusion of operational excellence, academic rigour, and institutional integrity.
A scholar-practitioner, IGP Disu holds advanced degrees in Criminology, Security Psychology, Forensic Investigation, and Public Administration. He has championed research-driven policing, declaring that "policing has gone beyond stereotypes" and demanding specialists in forensics, cybersecurity, and data analytics to transform the Force into a scientific, intelligence-led institution.
His frontline credentials are unmatched. As Commander of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad (2015–2021), he revolutionised urban policing. As head of the Intelligence Response Team and Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and the FCT, he mastered Nigeria's most complex security terrains.
Accountability is his hallmark. Following the tragic Effurun incident, he ordered the dismissal and prosecution of errant officers within 72 hours, declaring: "No uniform is a license to kill." That decisive action replaced bureaucratic defensiveness with transparent justice.
Under his leadership, the Force is becoming tech-centric and citizen-focused, with predictive policing, AI training, and a restructured Intelligence Department. His recent intervention in Osun State further proves he leads from the front. Over twenty lives had been lost to political violence. At a stakeholder meeting, he warned: "This is an election, not a war." He ordered the arrest of political thugs and their sponsors, regardless of status and declared: "Nobody will commit a crime and go scot-free. Human life is sacred."
He assured Osun people of policing without fear or favour, reorganised anti-cultism teams, and warned parents and politicians against promoting thuggery.
In IGP Disu, Nigeria has found a leader who combines intellectual sophistication with frontline credibility, strategic vision with operational precision, and authority with empathy. He is not merely policing Nigeria, he is redefining what Nigerian policing can be.
