We live in the 21st century, with tools that let billions communicate instantly. So why are we still relying on average, often unqualified parliamentarians to make our laws? Time for a rethink.

The original idea of parliamentary representation made sense in the 18th and 19th centuries—when travel was slow and communication limited.
Today, anyone with a phone can read, debate, and vote on bills in real time.
Most elected officials—especially in underdeveloped nations aren’t legal experts or visionary thinkers.
They're often inexperienced, narrowly opinionated, and not equipped to draft or evaluate complex policy.

Why should the fate of a nation be shaped by people with no background in economics, law, or ethics, just because they won a popularity contest?

Technology now allows for direct representation. Imagine a system where citizens vote directlyon for key bills with no intermediaries. Legislation by informed consensus, not party politics.

Will everyone always vote wisely? Not necessarily. But are we honestly doing better with today’s lawmakers?
Democratizing lawmaking could raise both transparency and accountability.

We don’t need ceremonial representatives in a digital world.
We need systems that empower everyone to shape the future directly.
It’s time to retire outdated models and build #democracy 2.0.

So what’s the alternative?
A national law-drafting office composed of:
•Constitutional experts
•Deep-thinking philosophers
•Legal scholars
•Experienced policymakers

These people draft laws & not pass them.
Draft laws would be:
•Open for stakeholder input (e.g. law enforcement, unions, industry bodies)
•Reviewed transparently
•Refined based on expert and public feedback
•And finally, opened for national voting by all eligible citizens.

This isn't chaos. It’s structured, participatory democracy.
Instead of a few often underqualified MPs voting for millions, the people vote-armed with expert-reviewed drafts and public consultation.

This model removes the influence of party politics, lobbying, and uninformed emotion. It creates a system where law is shaped by expertise, transparency, and direct public will.

We no longer need to outsource our future to the mediocre and unqualified.
Let’s design governance for this century—where wisdom drafts the law, and the people pass it.
Democracy 2.0 is overdue.
