It’s been a while since our initial CEX listing, and we want to openly share the challenges, emotions, struggles, and lessons we’ve faced since the setback.

As a small team fueled by passion and big dreams, the listing outcome hit us hard. We watched the community’s enthusiasm, excitement and praise quickly turn into frustration, disappointment, anger, and doubt. It made us question our capabilities and whether our vision was even realistic. Much of it was new, unpredictable, and beyond our control. We were forced to confront just how optimistic we had been—and whether we were ready to face what lay ahead.

In the midst of this storm, we considered every possible direction. And yet, through it all, one thing kept coming back to us: our commitment to this project and the community behind it.

Thankfully, we also received tremendous encouragement and support during this period, which helped us begin to rebuild our confidence.

Today, we believe we’re finally turning the corner. We’re recovering, becoming stronger, and we've taken this time to re-evaluate and refine our goals. Here's our updated roadmap moving forward:

🔹 Enhanced Social Features
We’re rolling out social functionalities step-by-step, evolving the app into a full-fledged social media platform deeply integrated with blockchain and AI. This will be the foundation of our sustainability strategy—bridging blockchain with real-world use cases.

🔹 Mainnet Development
We’re postponing the open mainnet launch to focus more resources on enhancing the core app experience.

🔹 Local Services Transition
Current local services will be phased out and will be replaced with advanced features within our upcoming social media ecosystem.

🔹 Blockchain Loyalty for Merchants
Looking ahead, we aim to redefine traditional loyalty programs. Our long-term vision includes simple, token-based blockchain solutions that merchants can easily adopt.

🔹 CPEN Token Buyback

After six years of R&D, and almost two years after mainnet alpha went live, @Consensys-backed @LineaBuild has reached a critical inflection point, becoming the first zkEVM to achieve prover completeness.

What prover completeness actually means:

100% of EVM execution can now be fully ZK proven. All 141 opcodes, all 9 precompiles, every edge case. Previously, Linea's validity proofs covered only partial EVM operations, requiring trust that the operator wouldn't maliciously alter state. That trust assumption is now cryptographically eliminated on Linea. This milestone also removes the “recategorization timer” on L2Beat (see screenshot below), indicating a fully mature proof exists.

So while other zkEVMs still prove subsets, calldata here, state transitions there, common opcodes when convenient, Linea now proves the entire EVM specification. Every single operation, every gas calculation that makes Ethereum, Ethereum.

The technical achievement:

While many projects emulate the EVM leveraging RISC-V based general purpose zkVMs like SP1 and R0 by Succinct and RiscZero, Linea uses direct arithmetization, manually crafted circuits for each EVM component. This approach is exponentially harder to implement but theoretically 10x more performant (based on estimates).

To achieve this, Linea implements a unique proof pipeline: Transactions undergo arithmetization (160+ bit field), flow through Arcane (cryptographic compilation) and Vortex (Linea's custom lattice-based proof system). Vortex is particularly notable as it is quantum-resistant, optimized for recursion, and uses self-recursion to compress proofs into tiny Ethereum-verifiable SNARKs. Its current ~12 minute proof generation (with 3min on horizon) outperforms many competitors despite proving significantly more.

Why this matters:

→ For developers: Complete EVM compatibility. If it runs on mainnet, it runs on Linea. No compatibility matrices.

→ For users: Mathematical verification replaces operator trust. The entire execution stack is cryptographically proven.

→ For Ethereum: This is the scaling endgame, provable computation without making compromises.

What's immediately ahead:

The "training wheels" come off: 6-hour finalization delay removal, ERC-20 gas tokens with MetaMask support, auto-claiming L1<>L2 messages, 60% L1 cost reduction via BLS12-381 precompiles, and a "limitless prover" that removes operation counting overhead, enabling 1s blocks and scaling from 15 to 22.5 mGas/s (~100+ TPS).

The longer horizon:

According to Linea's roadmap, 2026 will bring 0.5s blocks and 1 gGas/s throughput (up to 10,000 TPS), and by 2027, Linea aims for 0.25s blocks, 2 gGas/s (~20,000 TPS), a novel multi-client architecture, and potential Type 1 zkEVM status as Ethereum adopts Verkle trees. The permissionless DPoS transition with QBFT consensus will decentralize the sequencer, and enable permissionless validator participation.

Market positioning:

Linea achieved Stage 0 maturity in May as state reconstruction went live. Prover completeness now positions them directly against @Scroll_ZKP and @0xPolygon zkEVM aiming to become Type 2, and eventually Type 1 zkEVMs. The difference? Linea's bet on direct arithmetization, which comes with additional complexity, but could pay off big time in terms of performance, a bet that today's prover completeness milestone validates.
