I never knew that paying for follow-up consultations to discuss blood tests, other investigations and further management would be such a hot button topic on this space. Especially from the "rich" & well travelled Lagos Twitter.

Do people genuinely believe that follow-up consultations are free in "saner-climes" & Nigerian private hospitals are just being greedy?😅

Apart from expected contrarians, I was surprised some doctors also had that opinion.

It is not enough to learn all the clinical triads, learning the medical models and healthcare financing is also equally important.

House officers in Nigeria have been begging to be paid their salaries every month since they started working.

They are working 80 hour shifts in conditionings that will shut down hospitals in other parts of the world for a paltry sum.

You will never seen the emergency lovers of Nigeria and the patriots empathise with them or call for the government to do the right thing.

As soon as a HO survives this and decides to leave, that is when the emergency partiots will come and remind you that education in Nigeria is "subsidized". 💀
