🇮🇹 🗞️ | After #Sandokan#CanYaman is a clumsy lawyer: all about #Bro, the new comedy series of the Turkish actor.
Can is in the midst of his artistic revolution: after the success of the fiction Rai he returned to Italy to shoot a series in which he plays a character with a high rate of self-irony.
Article - Part 1
In Naples he withdrew the Nastro D'Argento Grandi Serie 2026 as the international protagonist for the #Sandokan series, the pearl of the Rai schedules last fall. Leaving the Neapolitan city he flew to Sicily to receive the Taormina Film Festival Icon Award. From July 3 to 11 he will also be at the Italian Global Series 2026 in Rimini and Riccione to present one of his new works, the Spanish series Il laberinto delle farfalle, which sees him on a special mission as a very human secret agent. In Taormina, raising to heaven one of the many awards received in the last year for his work, the Turkish actor Can Yaman crystalised his triumph in a single gesture: that of an artist who made a bet on himself, risking a well-started career in the world of seriality made in Turkey, to become a reference point for the small and big screen with roles much more varied than romantic and often rarefied ones interpreted in the dizi, thanks to which he became famous in Italy.
Today Can Yaman wants to be something different, not only in our country where everyone loves him since the days of DayDreamer but throughout Europe. Maybe, in the whole world.
His next challenge is called Bro: the title is provisional, but there are now few doubts about the plot. Produced by Lux Vide, it is the project that brought Can Yaman back to Italy after the Spanish parenthesis and after the splendour of Sandokan, an international co-production that will soon see him return to the set for the second season.
Can Yaman on the new series Bro: "I wanted to surprise people: after Sandokan I said goodbye to the role of cool hero".
Already at Sanremo 2026, co-host of the prime time together with Carlo Conti, Can Yaman had told the journalists of the press room that he was very proud of the course taken by his work after the convincing test in the Rai fiction that retraced, almost 50 years after the drama with the original Sandokan Kabir Bedi, the adventures of the Tiger of Malaysia. After shooting the series The Butterfly Labyrinth in Spain in which he plays a secret agent-gentleman. As he told Adnkronos "at first I was a pure James Bond species, then with the various drafts they started to soften everything. He has become a very human Bond, who sacrifices himself for women." The butterfly maze, which will be presented in Rimini and Riccione in July, according to its protagonist is "a romantic, complete thriller: there is action but also tenderness. It suits me so much."
But it is with Bro, the title for the temporary moment of a series that will presumably be streaming on Prime Video in 2027, that Can Yaman has decided to throw his heart over the obstacle. The actor said he accepted the role because he was very distant from those his fans are used to. And in fact in Bro he plays a brilliant lawyer but "devoid of social talents". Yaman, he explained in Taormina talking about this project signed by director Riccardo Donna, was focussing on a brilliant role, with comic traits. "I didn't want to make a hero anymore, a cool one after Sandokan: I wanted to surprise people. I also wanted to try something I had never done, a comedy". Yaman said that his desire was to "self-destruct" or, at least, destroy the granitic idea that a large slice of the public has of him: that of the handsome and romantic hero irretrievably linked to his bursting physicality.

Many times, when you follow an actor, after a while, the interest can diminish. This does not apply to Can. Because he is not an ordinary actor, but follows his own, unique path.Even his haters can't ignore him, and they talk about him all the time.
This is his victory.

🇮🇹🗞️| La Sicilia - #CanYaman arrives at the Taormina Film Festival and the mania explodes in the city. The confession: "I wish I were #Sandokan".
Can Yaman, the undisputed Turkish star actor of recent years, arrived at the Palazzo Congressi for the conference between screams and applause of a crowd that waited for the actor immediately snatching his first photos and autographs.
During the conference, the actor talked about himself and his work: "Maybe I looked like Sandokan. He is a character from whom I learned to grow as an actor and person. He is a character who evolves, he is very ascetic and smiling, and his heroism is amplified. This teaches us, because each of us has battles in life, but we must not forget to smile. As a child I watched movies with Benigni and Troisi, and I tried to understand that comedy and that improvisation».
The actor, also happily embarrassed by the continuous "you are beautiful" shouted by the public, which generated funny moments in the dialogue with the public, answered all the questions by telling himself with sincerity.
Last week Can Yaman was awarded the Silver Ribbon as "International Protagonist" for his interpretation in Sandokan, the series that further consecrated him as one of the most important faces in current cinema.
Tonight, at the Teatro Antico, Yaman will in fact receive the Taormina Film Festival Icon Award. The actor, whose return in the second season of Sandokan is yet to be awaited, will soon appear in an eight-episode romantic comedy, entitled "Bro". In the series, Yaman plays a lawyer who "doesn't know how to deal with women", but also recalling an aspect of his biography, since the actor has a degree in Law.

♦️ #CanYaman - Answering a question about AI, Yaman said: "I started using it two weeks ago, it answered me so well to a question that it left me speechless. If used well it can be useful but I don't think it can replace the artists, their heart, if it will cause damage we'll see, but the artists will always serve".
