Somewhere right now, a startup just spent 18 months building an incredible product...
...and launched it with a 40-minute raw founder vid because it "builds trust"
They're about to call it a marketing problem.
Do you agree๐๐ผ:
Iโve seen many agencies and companies that definitely have at least one Indian guy on their team. Itโs definitely an advantage for their business.
You know what, bro? I genuinely believe Indian creatives are extremely talented. Iโve seen so many people doing crazy, next-level work, and the quality can be incredibly premium.
But on the other hand, there are also people who offer their work extremely cheap or scam others, and that creates a bad perception of Indian freelancers and makes people assume that Indian creatives are cheap or unreliable.
Thatโs why I think this happens. There are so many insanely talented Indian creatives doing premium level work, but the actions of a few people can affect how the whole community is perceived.
Founders are inherently bad at marketing.
And not for the reason you might think.
I believe the worst person to explain your product or service is yourself.
Why?
Because you have biases,
You like certain features more, just like a parent likes a certain child more.
Your likeness has nothing to do with the usefulness and value of those features and the worst part, it can be based on anything.
Just for context, my company helps founders explain their products under 30 seconds using 2d animation,
And i always do an independent survey of the product or company instead of just relying on the founder to tell us what their company does and which fratures are important.
What we do is simple,
We take what you know, remove 90% of it, and turn the remaining, valuable 10% into a concentrated and digestible motion video.
And itโs a kick ass video too, not because better visuals sell more, but because novelty has become the norm.
A random scroller wonโt even give your video a second look unless it blows their mind in the first 3 seconds.
Any founders whoโve had a similar experience?
Editing agencies have always had a bad reputation.
When I started my agency back in 2019, the biggest challenge I faced was building trust.
At the time, editing agencies were known for exploiting offshore editors and operating on lies and broken promises. So trying to build a reputable brand in a market that already distrusted you wasnโt easy.
In the beginning, it took an entire year of trial runs and low-tier projects just to gather enough testimonials and past work to be taken seriously.
With every project we landed, I made it a priority to overdeliver on quality rather than chase quick profits for myself.
That initial sacrifice and long-term vision laid the foundation for what is now @CartelMedia_, one of the most reliable and respected editing agencies in the business and lifestyle content space.
But weโre still far from where we want to be. Our goal is to become the face of the video editing industry.
In a world full of unreliable freelancers who disappear a day before the deadline and makeshift agencies that are one delay away from losing both their team and their clients, we aim to be a breath of fresh air.
Weโve built a system designed to ensure every video gets delivered on time, with delays (if any) communicated well in advance.
Weโve got a long way to go, but Iโm grateful to our clients for trusting us and to everyone here for supporting the previews I share โค๏ธ
