@jodyreznik Yeah all good I hear you. It’s funny I’m catching flack for this cause I usually catch flack for defending him. I’m all about this idea, I just have yet to be wow’d by his direction and he’s had 3 films to figure it out. Nothing in here has convinced me yet either, but we’ll see
First trailer for ‘THE SOCIAL NETWORK’ sequel, starring Jeremy Strong, Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison.
The film follows an engineer who becomes a whistleblower on Facebook's most guarded secrets.
In theaters on October 9.
@jodyreznik I’m not ruling it out. I’ll 100% give it a fair crack. Think everything he does is worth seeing. But very much wish this had alleviated some of my concerns instead of heightening literally all of them
@jodyreznik I’m one of the biggest Sorkin truthers out there. Think the guy is the absolute best at his craft, which is writing. He’s not a bad director, just a mediocre one at best, and think it’s a shame that he’s wasting great writing
@AReedMTG It’s caricature acting and it’s destined to fail 9/10 times. Like Chalamet with Bob Dylan. Impossible to play that role without it feeling like you’re doing an impression. Especially when someone has such an iconic piece of their persona. Eisenberg didn’t impersonate, just acted
@AReedMTG Rare to see someone get progressively worse at it. Molly’s Game being his best, Trial of Chicago 7 being a fine but bland courtroom drama and then Being the Ricardo’s being Being the Ricardo’s. You don’t have to be good at everything. It’s ok to stay in your lane.
@the_film_maniac Only precursor I really give any weight anymore with regard to Lead Actor is BAFTA and that was hardly helpful. I’m just really stunned Chalamet couldn’t win the SAG
@the_film_maniac Gonna be like Anora where OBAA just does not stop marching up to the stage. Really thought Chalamet was gonna win the SAG — they love him. Feels like a big hit to his odds. And I just don’t see MBJ being a possibility.
