What if Breeze WAS planning to take out Kanan (or at least clip him for stepping too far out of line / wanting more control), but Ghost caught wind of it somehow? Maybe Kanan confided in Ghost like 'yo, Breeze trippin, he don't see the vision, he tryna hold us back' or even straight-up warned Ghost that Breeze was gonna make a move on him first to stay on top.
Ghost, being the calculated one even back then, tries to talk Breeze down gives him that
'one more chance' like he told Tariq. 'Come on man, let's expand, let's build this empire bigger, don't make me do this.! But Breeze shuts it down hard, refuses to evolve, maybe even threatens Ghost or Kanan right there in the apartment while they're watching Jeopardy or whatever.
Ghost excuses himself (classic move to get the drop), comes back, and boom headshot.
But here's the twist: Ghost didn't just do it for power or territory. He did it to PROTECT Kanan, his day-one who put him and Tommy on. Kanan was right there watching, probably shocked but relieved, thinking Ghost just saved his life and cleared the path for THEM to run things.
That makes the betrayal even colder later
Ghost sets up Kanan for the same reason:
Kanan got in the way of HIS future (just like Breeze did). Full circle. Kanan thought Ghost owed him loyalty forever for the come-up, but Ghost was always playing chess while Kanan was playing checkers.
If Origins dives into this, it could flip everything: Ghost wasn't the snake from jump; he was the one trying to keep peace until he couldn't. Breeze forcing his hand started the cycle of 'kill or be killed' that turned Ghost into what he became. Kanan fanboys hate it, but it makes Ghost's line 'I didn't want to kill Breeze, I loved Breeze' hit even harder he really tried to talk him out of his own death.
