I 100% would've dropped poetry at GCSE. Poetry is incredibly vital and inspiring for teens, but the poems on the syllabus (and the way they're taught) don't even come close to doing it justice. And I don't blame teachers for one second. I'm 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 this is an opportunity 🤞🏻

I would just like to say that all my poets are both exactly themselves, and great and original geniuses, but also, as a group of students from a single, disadvantaged school, a demonstration of how many poets there could be if we expected it and made space for poetry in school.
