My new data brief at The Nuzzo Letter shows the latest data on male and female participants in NIH-funded research. As you can see, the claim that women are "underrepresented" in medical research is not true. Women made up over 50% of participants in NIH-funded research every year between 1995 and 2025, except in 2017. The NIH is the world's largest public funder of medical research. NIH-funded research involves millions of male and female participants.
