Advocating for Environmental Conservation & N.R management, bringing on board indeginous youths and IPLCs voices in Climate Actions in Isiolo county (011).
Climate change and shrinking economic opportunities continue to place pressure on the future of Indigenous youth across Northern Kenya. But within communities in Laikipia and beyond, a different story is taking shape.
The Maiyanat Indigenous Youth Life Skills, Arts and Culture Development Centre is creating opportunity for youth across Northern Kenya—opening up apprenticeship pathways grounded in community realities. Through practical, hands-on learning, young people are building the confidence and capacity to shape their own futures while remaining rooted in their communities and contributing to their resilience.
The Youth Skills Roadshow & Exhibition builds on this work by creating a shared space where skills are seen, understood, and valued. In this way, it becomes more than a showcase—it is a collective moment where learning, opportunity, and partnership come together to shape locally driven solutions for the future.
Come learn, support, collaborate, and invest in the potential of Indigenous youth driving change from within their communities

The real win is when pastoralist and indigenous communities develop their own land use plans and move from being consulted to becoming actual shareholders in the mega-investments (oil, geothermal, wind power, carbon projects, LAPSSET, conservancies, mining…) happening on their ancestral lands.
