For years I've said that Gears of War needs change.
Even with all my success in Esports over the last 10+ years I fully believe the core gameplay causes so many inconsistencies especially during online play. It's too hard to balance/perfect the speed and damage, the Servers have never been good or accurate enough, the animations make no sense especially in Gears 5 etc.
Gears is extremely hard for newcomers to enjoy because of this as well a lack of casual modes for them. When Reloaded dropped I was playing vs PlayStation players who have genuinely never played in their lives, of course they're gonna put the game down and never touch it again.. it's 2026 man, most human beings don't want to sit there and put 200 hours into a game just to get past the inital learning curve.

If it was up to me I would love a Gears 2/3 style game. I'd love for it to be super cutthroat and hard to be good at like it used to be, but that's selfish.

I want Gears of War: E-Day to succeed and I fully believe that changing the mechanics of the game gives it a better chance. I do hope that whatever Multiplayer looks and plays like, it rewards good players who use their brains. That's my only request 🫡

Can only base it off the comments I’ve received on Twitch and YouTube. I think a good chunk of them put the game down pretty quickly after not understanding center screen, clunky movement, etc. but regardless I agree it’s a shame E-Day isn’t on PS, would’ve been nice to have everyone be able to play.

@Decadence_3 I mean I agree from what we've heard it looks Casual which is a good thing if you want the game to grow. We've seen 0 multiplayer footage so we can't judge it fully yet.
