If this ad has made you curious about Team Paltrow’s politics, I refer you Gwyneth’s other major intervention this week: reputation laundering an AI missile manufacturer on her podcast show
Disabled people are not "living off the state". Many are being kept barely above collapse by a system that already underpays, delays, reassesses, disbelieves and exhausts them. Cutting that further is not reform. It is cruelty.
1st set of 'real world' data on DWP 'Employment Support' for those too ill/disabled to work shows it's predictably failing
Just 1,600 out of 14,000 have "started in a job"
11.4%: exactly as predicted
Remember 8% find work on their own so it's actually only a 3% impact not 11%
Disability benefits do not create comfort. They barely touch the costs disabled people cannot avoid. The real scandal is not that support exists. The scandal is how far below real disabled living costs that support now falls.
In the UK, sitting peacefully opposing genocide is deemed terrorism whilst burning houses, rioting and targeting minority groups is considered ‘protest’
Today is my Universal Credit review.
I don't know if this review was triggered by routine checks, online reports, or something else entirely.
What I do know is that for months I've had people threatening to report me simply because I'm disabled and I work.
The review started months ago.
The DWP asked for evidence.
I provided it.
Then I waited.
March.
April.
May.
June.
Four months of uncertainty.
And that's the part of the welfare system that politicians and much of the mainstream media never talk about.
The waiting.
The anxiety.
The sleepless nights.
The feeling that your financial security is sitting in somebody else's inbox.
If I ignored the DWP for four months, there would be consequences for me.
Yet disabled people are expected to sit and wait indefinitely for answers.
Behind every welfare statistic is a real person trying to pay their bills, manage their health, care for loved ones and live their life.
Whatever happens today, that's a reality worth talking about.

@DPJHodges Actually, it's worse than that. There's a constant pattern: inflammatory rhetoric -> violence -> "violence proves why our policies are needed". It's the MAGA method: set the fire, then claim that only you know how to put out the flames.
#TimmsReview#PIP
DWP & Timms Review committee have failed to get their story straight on how many responses were received to the reviews Call for Evidence on PIP, with the DWP claiming over 250% more replies were received than Timms says was the case.

The ‘Great Israeli Real Estate Event’ is to be held in London this Sunday.
This disgraceful event will involve the sale of land stolen from Palestinians in illegal Israeli settlements.
Today, I called for the Government to ban this event.
So you lose your job to AI then you have to speak with a chat bot to find a job that isn't there becuase they are being replaced with AI. How many redundancies at the DWP will this ridiculous plan generate as well.
There are only 8 Reform MPs and they have a combined wealth of over £70,000,000.
They have consistently voted against every single improvement to workers rights and plan to scrap legal protections left right and centre.
They are funded by the bosses to rip up your rights.
