Homecoming committee members rallied at Wednesday’s ASUI meeting to oppose a recent resolution regarding the discontinuation of the long-standing tradition of Homecoming fireworks.

Sen. Connor Dahlquist talking, takes a strong stance against. Not surprising at all as he was the one asking for funding for the show. Hard to see him voting "yes" here ... will be interesting to see how many follow his lead.
"Think about the message you are sending to the current student body," citing the 8k who came out for the fireworks and the partnerships that are formed, including the Moscow High Environmental Club.
Duncan going over the history of the event and funding, of which ASUI used to contribute. Talks of how disappointing the resolution is and how many community members and alumni are against this resolution and the idea that the fireworks are a significant community event.
Duncan first thanks the students who made homecoming happen and says it was a success, which few would argue with. <It was pretty awesome, y'all ... Go Vandals!>
We are through the preliminaries and into open forum, where Associate Director of Alumni Events Marie Duncan will take her issues with the resolution to the floor.
Well, it's been a while, but ASUI Twitter is back for those who are interested in tonight's proceedings, and if the traffic on the interwebs is any indicator, people are interested in tonight's proceedings.
