ACAD 1101 College Learning Strategies is a great course for new students, re-entry students, & anyone interested in strategies to promote academic success. This 1-credit course, offered Fall, Spring, & Summer semesters covers all kinds of learning strategies and study techniques.

Need help learning how to do accurate & effective research? Enroll in our ACAD 1111 Information Literacy and Inquiry course! In this class, you’ll learn the skills to do quality research for any paper or assignment. This 3-credit course is offered in both Fall & Spring semesters.

Need a handout on tips of how to improve your note taking skills? The Student Success Center has a handout for you! Easily accessible online, the handouts available are cornell systems for taking notes, general rules for abbreviations, how to study, and listening to signals.

The course ACAD 1105-Special Topics in First Year Seminar provides an extended orientation to the university for new students while offering them an opportunity to explore a topic relevant to their majors. This class provides a great opportunity to learn more about your field.

There are Academic Courses offered to help students succeed in college. ACAD 1103-College Learning Strategies for Mathematics covers math anxiety, note taking, homework, textbook study, learning styles, text preparation, and problem solving. This class is offered every semester.
