1/2 Manyera Dam has a small section of its wall designed to wash away in the case of flooding to prevent damage to the main dam wall (think of it like the fuse in your house). This narrow brick wall has been damaged, as intended, which will prevent the main wall from collapsing.

UPDATE: Here's a picture of Manyera Dam's spillway taken today. The red line on the second picture shows the part of the one brick wide, "fuse plug spillway" that was washed away.

The main, masonry spillway and earth dam wall are both intact and no further flooding is expected.

@ZvenyikaChindo3 @DavidColtart People on the ground in Burma Valley (not in the Vumba as misreported by the Ministry and CPU) seem to feel that there is no danger. If others would like to evacuate to feel safe that is fine, but resources should perhaps be focused on Chimanimani right now?
