Former President George W. Bush, who was president at the time of the 9/11 attacks, sat down with former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Wednesday evening and recounted the horrors of that fateful day.

Bush remembered the moment he was informed that America was under attack and the second World Trade Center was struck.

"America is now under attack. I didn't have much time to process that, but it was pretty clear to me that if we were under attack, then my job was to defend the child that was reading to me, and her family, and her country," Bush said.

"And so it was a moment of clarity."
