Background of this 👇popular pic from Era of IEA/Taliban 1.0:
Zarmina (the woman at the gunpoint in the pic) & her Husband (former police officer) were living in Qala-e-Char of Chardeh, 6th Police district (Hawza) of #Kabul city, Married for almost 2 decades, with 7 kids. Zarmina originally from Paghman district of Kabul & her husband from Chak district of Maidan Wardak province, both ethnically #Pashtuns.
One day the wife went to the nearby drugstore, bought drug for unconsciousness (in Afg even today u can buy most of the medicine without showing any prescription). She made her husband unconscious through feeding him the contaminated food & then hammered him until death. Finding their father dead, daughters (teenager at the time) informed their parental uncle (officer in Airforce Since Republic of Afg) & he informed authorities (IEA/Taliban 1.0). Wife was accused of killing & held in custody, she denied at the beginning but later when her daughters testified, hammer was discovered from the Water Well inside the house she also finally confessed. The drugstore guy was also arrested. In court, the uncle (man with the gun in pic) asked for immediate QISAS (قصاص=Killing of killer), but IEA court denied, because she was breastfeeding her Twins(boy&girl) infants at the time so she remained in prison. 2.5 to 3 years later the uncle again appealed for QISAS (it was his legal right). Mother of Zarmina asked for forgiveness several times, but the uncle wanted justice to be served (note: if the close relative don’t forgive even State leader can’t forgive killer in Islamic court). Inevitably she was brought to Ghazi Stadium of Kabul (In Islamic jurisprudence punishment is conducted in front of voluntarily gathered public, to show/fear them the consequences of such crimes). All 4 daughters & 2 sons of Zarmina’s are married, living in Kabul till now, only one son disappeared few years back still nothimg known about his life & death. Uncle was legal guarantor for them but for sure they had a very unfortunate childhood without both mother & father in Afghan society but now doing well. May Allah shower Zarmina with HIS mercy because as she eventually repented and keep us away from this kind of acts.
Why she did it? Mild #Domestic #violence is mentioned by some neighbors, others have other accusations which I don’t see appropriate to mention, Court files can reveal more if available & accessible?? But, in my opinion no matter what, no individual should kill other human in cold blood, if you are such brave just leave him/her (divorce/run away).
Source for this detailed story? Relative & close neighbor of late Zarmina who was my friend during my undergraduate studies still in contact with the family & He emphasized that never name the deceased person & the uncle because it will be troublesome for the daughters in their in laws. In addition, in reply below you can also see screenshot from H.E @abdulsalamzaeef ‘s book (My life with the Taliban pp 132) where he mentioned about the case & mentioned how a pure legal issue made political for propaganda against IEA.

In August 2020, Saudi authorities arrested imam Dr. Abdullah Basfar, a well-known Quran reciter and former Secretary-General of the Commission on Scientific Signs in the Quran and Sunnah, for accepting an invitation to lead prayers at the Hagia Sophia Mosque in Istanbul.

In October 2022, Saudi authorities sentenced Basfar to 12 years in prison.

Family members have gathered by the rubble of a hospital in Kabul searching for their loved ones after an air attack struck the building, reportedly killing over 400 people.

We’ve spent the past 24 hours reporting on the aftermath of the Pakistani airstrike that hit a former U.S. base last night, home to a drug rehabilitation center.

My colleague @SAFIPADSHAH saw at least 75 bodies. A initial assessment from a U.N. Agency which we obtained said 180 people were killed. Afghan officials put the death toll at over 400.

Pakistan, as of tonight, maintains it hit a military target. The drug rehab facility was widely recognised as such among locals.

I was at the Omyd(hope) drug rehab center for the last ~4 hours. This facility accommodated over 1000 drug addicts for rehabilitation. I recorded this video at 6 AM as we found this & many more dead bodies buried under the rubble. These innocent souls were martyred by Pakistan.

Secretary Rubio, the Afghan government has no interest in holding American citizens in detention. The delay in release has been due to lack of movement on the release of an Afghan citizen who has been illegally detained in Guantanamo bay for almost 20 years, the release of whom had been promised in the past.

However, this is not a matter that cannot be resolved. No threats or sanctions are required, nor would they work, just a little diplomacy would go a long way. May the detainees on both sides unite with their loved ones soon. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
